Privacy Policy

Proxmox Cloud Backup is a private, non-commercial integration used by its owner to store encrypted backups of a personally administered server in the owner's Google Drive. This page describes the intended data handling for that integration, not for other software running on the server.

Google data accessed

With the owner's authorization, the integration uses Google Drive API access to create, read, update, list, and delete backup-related files within the permissions granted to it. The intended Google Drive OAuth scope is drive.file, which limits access to files the app creates or that the user opens with it. The Google OAuth authorization also returns authentication credentials used to maintain authorized access.

How data is used

The integration uses this access solely to upload encrypted backups, manage backup versions and retention, verify backup integrity, and retrieve files for restoration. The integration does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or training artificial intelligence models.

Storage and security

Backup content is encrypted locally before uploading to Google Drive using separate backup encryption credentials. Google OAuth tokens and configuration are stored on the owner's server with restricted filesystem access. Google Drive stores the resulting encrypted backup data under the owner's Google account. The website displaying this policy does not receive or store those backups or OAuth tokens.

Sharing and disclosure

Google Drive processes and stores the encrypted backup objects as the storage provider. The integration is not designed to sell Google user data or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Data may also be disclosed if required by applicable law.

Retention and deletion

Backup files are retained according to the owner's configured backup schedule and retention rules. The owner can delete stored backup files and revoke access through Google Account permissions. Revoking access prevents further authorized Google Drive API use but does not automatically delete backups already stored in Google Drive.
